The tour starts at Neustadt station. Head north along Bahnhofstraße for around 100 m, then turn left into Karl-Liebknecht-Straße. After the traffic lights, continue straight ahead on Maxim-Gorki-Straße and after around 700 m turn left into Mittelweg. Shortly afterwards, cross the bridge over the Polenz on the right and follow Inselweg to the crossroads. Turn left and then immediately right back onto Mittelweg, which you follow for around 800 m to "An der Lücke". Turning right, you cycle directly towards the Erbgericht Polenz and change onto Polenztalstraße.
This is where the Neustadt circular cycle route begins, marked with a blue dot on a white background. Leave Polenztalstraße to the left into Cunnersdorfer Straße, then turn left into Mittelweg and shortly afterwards left again into Cunnersdorfer Straße, which you follow until you reach Flämmigtweg. Turn left past the Waldbad and continue along the signposts to the S 156 and turn left there. Later you reach the junction to Krumhermsdorf and follow this to the fire station. Turn left into the street "Am Bahnhof" and left again before the station. The path finally leads to a forest parking lot, where you can turn right to the summit of the Ungerberg. If you wish, you can climb up to the viewing tower. The route then descends to the S 154, briefly following the state road to the right before turning left onto the cycle path again. Pass the forest stadium to reach Rugiswalde. At the fire station, turn left onto Talstraße, which later becomes "Am Berg". At a small pond, turn left into "Kochs Weg", which has a steeper gradient for 1 km. At the end, turn left into Dorfstraße until you reach the Wirtshaus zum Raupenberg.
The route continues along Raupenbergstraße towards the border crossing to the Czech Republic, turning left onto Alte Waldstraße just before the border. Cross the Hohwald forest on this road. Turn right at an information board about the local cycle paths. A short hilly section leads past small ponds, then turn left towards Niederottendorf. At the end, you reach Bischofswerdaer Straße and turn right. At the Rückersdorfer Straße junction, cycle to Rückersdorf and cross the S 156 again. In the village, turn left at the fire station and continue along Mühlstraße, later Wachbergweg. After a downhill section and the railroad underpass, the route leads through an industrial estate to the S 159, where you cycle a short distance to the left on the cycle path parallel to the road and after approx. 300 m turn into the street "Am Erbgericht". A descent with water crossings requires some caution before you reach the Erbgericht Polenz again. From there, follow the familiar route back to the station.
