Götzing Height

This hike leads along alley-like forest paths to the beautiful Götzinger Höhe and through beautiful forests. This hike is also particularly suitable in good weather. It is advisable to take along Grödel ("snow chains" for hiking boots), as the forest paths can still be icy long after the thaw has set in.

The starting point is the Neustadthalle. Walk along the main road across a crossroads in the direction of Bruno-Dietze-Ring.

On the edge of large residential blocks, an alley-like forest path leads to the foot of the Götzinger Höhe. It is a very nice walk and in between the trees you can see the lookout tower and the restaurant on the Götzinger Höhe. After a short ascent, you reach the restaurant quite quickly. If you want to stop here, it is advisable to reserve a table in advance. Especially at the weekend, many people come here. Once warmed up and refreshed, continue south along the promenade path. Here you cross a road twice before you reach the Mittelweg. Even during the day, the low winter sun creates very different impressions in the forest. The paths are well signposted and you can quickly find your way around. On Tännigtweg you pass the trout breeding ponds of the Ermisch fishery and in the distance you can see the large forge of the former "Fortschrittwerk". On Kirschallee you pass the huge parking lot of the mobile home factory "Capron". Passing the Neustädter Stadtbad, the route continues along Struvestraße and through the Arthur Richter Park back to the Neustadthalle.
