ATTENTION: The Caspar-David-Friedrich-Weg is currently being "revised" by the town of Bad Schandau and Sachsenforst. The path will be rerouted from the beginning of April. The information boards are also currently being renewed and will be installed along the new route in April.Unfortunately, the current route (especially the first section from Krippen along the Elbe to the middle slope and in the Hirschgrund) must therefore be expected to be of limited quality at this time. We apologise for this at the moment and recommend a hike along the trail from mid-April!The Caspar David Friedrich Trail follows in the footsteps of the famous Romantic painter. The landscape in Saxon Switzerland inspired the artist to create his work "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog".A total of 12 information boards introduce hikers to his life and his motifs. The trail leads from Krippen along the Elbe up to Schöna and the Kaiserkrone. It ends back in Krippen via Wolfsberg and through Reinhardtsdorf.
