no. 1

The Bastei Bridge is the landmark of Saxon Switzerland. Doesn't it look a bit like a "small Chinese wall"? Enjoy the view and conquer different lookout points.

no. 2

The Malerweg Trail: 116 wonderful kilometers in the footsteps of artists like Caspar David Friedrich. There are eight stages. You should try at least one. Maybe you get a taste.

One should change the perspective more often. The rocky landscape looks completely different from the water. Treat yourself to a new perspective on a steamboat ride.

no. 4

The Elbe Cycling Path is over 1,200 kilometers long and the section in Saxon Switzerland is certainly one of the most scenic. In addition, it is not very hilly and nicely paved. Our tip: Roll comfortably from Schmilka to Pirna.

An open-air theater right in the middle of a national park, where else will you find something similar. Musicals, fairy tales or grand opera - there is something for every taste.

no. 6

Of course, an elevator leads to the fortress plateau. However, if you want to experience the fortress in its original form, you should conquer it on foot through the dark Appareille.

Even Kate Winslet has been traveling with our Kirnitzschtalbahn. Our tip: Combine a leisurely ride to the Lichtenhainer waterfall with a hike to the Kuhstalll and later chug by tram back to Bad Schandau.

No. 8

Why should somebody leave fallen trees just where they fell? How did this rocks form? Find the answers in the National Park Center in Bad Schandau. If you want to know more about the region in which you are staying it is definitely worth stopping by.

In Venice you go by gondola through canyons of houses, on the Obere Schleuse dam lake you are leisurely pushed along moss-covered rock faces and through a wonderfully green environment. That is pure deceleration.

No. 10

Walk in Canaletto's footsteps? Going out for a delicious meal or a cozy coffee break? All this is possible in the lovingly restored historic city of Pirna. And what would a vacation be without a little shopping tour?
