Primeval Park Sebnitz

Short facts

Open-air exhibition of mammal and small creature sculptures

Since 1996, there has been a unique primeval park on the edge of Saxon Switzerland. The builder of the Großwelka Dinosaur Garden and the Kleinwelka Dinosaur Park continued his life's work with passionate dedication and artistic skill in the Sebnitz Prehistoric Park.
On a park area of more than 10,000 square metres, winding paths lead into the long  past world of our prehistory. Over 400 sculptures can be seen in the prehistoric park. During the tour, visitors gain insights into the development of living creatures from water to land. Besides microorganisms and bacteria magnified up to 1000 times, there are mammals from the Cenozoic as well as giant octopuses and prehistoric humans.

The ancestral line of horses is just as fascinating as the up to 8 m high Indricotherium, which was the largest mammal living on land. But insects magnified 100 times can also be seen in the primeval park in Sebnitz.
