Short facts

Saxon Switzerland National Park Information Centre

The historic log cabin at the famous Brandaussicht was renovated in 2006 and set up as an information centre for the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Since July 2015, a new, modern and family-friendly exhibition has been set up here.
On the freshly restored relief model by artist Irmgard Uhlig, you can marvel at the National Park region from a bird's eye view. Interesting information on the mountains, waters and sights depicted can be called up via interactive screen presentations. In addition, you can find out about the Polenz Valley and its special features.
The exhibition's "children's corner" entices visitors with a foray into the world of birds. Children can playfully learn how much our native bird species are bound to specific habitats on the screen and with the help of animal specimens.
In the immediate vicinity of the log cabin, there is a unique opportunity to enjoy an outstanding view over the rocky landscape of the national park. You can only reach the view, inn and log cabin on foot - the best way is from Hohnstein.
