On the highest elevation in Saxon Switzerland

The Großer Zschirnstein is a table mountain, 561 metres high, making it the highest peak in Saxon Switzerland. It offers views of Bohemian Switzerland, e.g. the Hoher Schneeberg, as well as the rocks of Saxon Switzerland and the mountains of the Eastern Ore Mountains. On its plateau you will find the chimney-like breakthrough of basalt and in its eastern rock faces the largest layer joint cave in the sandstone region.
