Bährmühle Bad Gottleuba-Berggießhübel
=====================================

- Mill

Historic mill with old wooden and metal machines, surrounded by wooden beams and ropes, in a room with warm light and windows in the background.

Bähr Mill Mühlenhof

A man in traditional work clothes carries a large brown sack on his shoulder in a rustic mill with pipes and sacks.

Creaking floors, rattling technology and fragrant flour - a living mill museum with demonstrations and history to experience.

 The mill in the Gottleuba Valley has been in existence since 1388 - today it is the last of around 30 mills that once operated here using water power. Instead of river water, the original technology is now powered by electricity.

The path of the grain can be followed over several floors: from the sack beating machine to roller mills from 1908 to the plansifter. There is also an old elevator - with a sign saying "150 kg, including guide".

The building vibrates when the transmissions start, then the smell of freshly ground flour fills the air. The sawmill with saw frame from 1898 is also still in operation and shows how wood was processed in the past.

Nora Mäke is the fourth generation to run the family business, supported by the master miller.
