Viewpoint and former robber baron's nest

The Arnstein is also known as the Ottendorf Robber's Castle. Remains of a medieval fortification, a 5 metre deep cistern and rock carvings can be found here. The complex was one of the most important castles in Saxon Switzerland in the Middle Ages before it degenerated into a robber baron's nest and was destroyed in 1451. There is a view of the Schrammstein, Affensteinen and the Neuer Wildenstein.
