**SPA & HOLIDAY RESORTS**

Six spa and recreational resorts in Saxon Switzerland combine traditional spa culture with state-of-the-art health and wellness services.
Magnificent scenery, clean air and therapeutic springs led to the rapid development of spa culture in the 19th century. The resorts' long-standing tradition remains both a commitment and a guarantee of the high quality of their services.

While recreational resorts are places with distinctive climatic and scenic qualities that primarily serve the purpose of relaxation, spa resorts must offer additional treatments designed to cure, alleviate or prevent illnesses, or boast exceptionally high air quality. Kneipp spas are also distinguished by a suitable bioclimate.

With its two rehabilitation clinics and outstanding wellness hotels, the idyllic town on the River Elbe is regarded as the wellness centre of Saxon Switzerland.
