Afterwards, you can round off the arrival day of your walking holiday with a leisurely stroll around the market square, a delicious ice cream by the Elbe or an initial walk in the countryside surrounding Bad Schandau. - **Day 2: Bad Schandau - Schrammsteine - Kirnitzsch Valley** (approx. 13 km, approx. 5.5 hrs) Your first destination is the Schrammsteine, with its wonderful viewpoint. In this part of Saxon Switzerland, there are some steep ascents and metal stairways to negotiate. After enjoying the sweeping panoramic views from the Schrammsteine and completing the descent into the Kirnitzsch Valley, it is worth taking an approximately 700-metre detour to the Lichtenhain Waterfall and stopping for an afternoon coffee. You will return to Bad Schandau by bus. - **Day 3: Krippen - Königstein Fortress** (approx. 17 km, approx. 6.5 hrs) On the morning of your second walking tour in Saxon Switzerland, you will take the Elbe ferry to Krippen before setting off on a walk along the left bank of the Elbe to the table mountains of Papststein and Gohrisch. Weather permitting, you will once again be rewarded with wonderful far-reaching views. The highlight of the walking tour is undoubtedly a visit to Königstein Fortress. Perched high above the town of the same name, the “Impregnable Fortress” offers a wealth of history to discover. In the late afternoon, you will take the S-Bahn back to Bad Schandau. - **Day 4: Stadt Wehlen - Bastei - Rathen Spa Resort** (approx. 6 km, approx. 2 hrs) Today's walk is a leisurely one. First, you will experience the breathtaking rock formations from the water as you travel by boat to Wehlen. You will then walk uphill via the Steinerner Tisch to the famous Bastei, with its bridge and Neurathen rock castle. Enjoy the views in every direction before descending once again into the Elbe Valley and the spa resort of Rathen. As on the previous day, you will return to Bad Schandau by S-Bahn. - **Day 5: Neumannmühle – Schmilka** (approx. 14 km, approx. 5.5 hrs) Today, you will walk through the Hintere Sächsische Schweiz region along a varied section of the Malerweg trail. Kleinsteinhöhle, Grosser Pohlshorn, Goldstein or the Kipphorn viewpoint – short detours repeatedly provide opportunities to enjoy beautiful far-reaching views. Shortly before reaching today's stage destination, you will ascend Grosser Winterberg, which, at 556 metres, is the second-highest mountain in Saxon Switzerland.
