The other kind of active holiday

Elbsandsteingebirge

The cultural richness of the national park region can be experienced just as well by people with disabilities as the diverse leisure facilities in Saxon Switzerland.

From Medieval fortresses to watch towers to exhibitions, open-air stages and visitor's centres showing manufacturing processes – all of these activities are suitable for holidaymakers with limited mobility or mental disabilities.

Königstein Fortress

Elbsandsteingebirge festung

The imposing fortress complex can be easily reached using a barrier-free lift. Wheelchair maps and audio guides are provided.

The majority of the exhibits can be accessed without stairs and there is mostly sufficient space to move about freely on the fortress complex.
